In the world of sport, governing bodies provide a set of guidelines and minimum standards a synthetic turf system must meet in order to maintain the safety of the athletes and optimal playability of the surface. Certifications are awarded for those surfaces that exceed the standards and many times meet professional and/or international qualifications.
