A year of success for Challenger surface at Lacon Childe
19/07/2006It's one whole busy academic year since The TigerTurf Challenger surface was first used by students at Lacon Childe Sports College, in Cleobury Mortimer, near Kidderminster, and it is officially been given the thumbs up.
The TigerTurf Challenger texturised monofilament carpet, suitable for both football and hockey, is an ideal solution for schools and clubs that demand a surface with more then one use. The carpet, laid on top of a specially engineered base, is infilled with recycled rubber granules and top dressed with sand, giving the finished pitch the perfect blend of true ball roll and bounce characteristics required for both football and hockey. The welfare of the players is also catered for by the Challenger surface, which absorbs impact from falls as a result of tackles, and thus reduces injuries.
Richard Meredith, Facilities Manager at Lacon Childe, is full of praise for the new TigerTurf Challenger surface, "It's without doubt the best artificial surface I have ever played on. It's a very flexible surface, with both football and hockey being played regularly, as well as rugby, and general multi-use sports. The demand for the surface is overwhelming, being fully booked from 9am through to 10pm, 7 days a week, generating revenue to be reinvested back into the school, as well as providing the local community with the latest sports facilities."
TigerTurf manufacture a wide range of innovative synthetic grass surfaces for sports, play and landscaping applications.
