Turf is a hit at grass roots
04/06/2008With England’s well documented absence from the Euro 2008 finals, questions have arisen as to why. The Grass Roots Football Show at the NEC was created to help find a solution to this question. The show caters for football coaches, professionals and development managers, showcasing ways of improving the game through grass roots development.
One such way is the introduction of more artificial turf surfaces into the club and community environment, this allows younger players to access the best training and playing facilities all year round, giving them the opportunity to develop inline with the youngsters from footballs most successful nations.
As such TigerTurf were a headline sponsor of the event, providing all the training areas for each of the skill zones, alongside this TigerTurf also supplied the surface for the Mars Stadium, which featured coaching clinics from star coaches such as Harry Rednap, Steve Maclaren and Brian Robson.
The show was a massive success. TigerTurf was a big hit with all attendees, most of which were unaware of the latest developments in artificial turf and many attitudes were changed as coaches and players witnessed first hand the latest soft synthetic products, dispelling the old Luton Town and QPR surfaces from their minds.
TigerTurf stands out as the only UK manufacture that is part of the FIFA quality concept, aimed at delivering the best surface for football around the world.
One of the key deliverers of the coaching academies at the show was David Richardson from the Professional Football Coaches Association (PFCA)
“TigerTurf have showed at this event a real commitment to the development of football in this country. We at the PFCA are avid supporters of synthetic surfaces and the important role they play in developing our footballers of the future. I can say with confidence that I would be delighted to run any of my coaching and training days on a dedicated football surface supplied by TigerTurf”.
