Hockey
All internationals, each top club match and almost every other game of hockey now takes place on artificial grass. Fast pitches, true ball roll and player comfort from advanced pads beneath have seen the sport improve beyond recognition and total enjoyment for all has been achieved. The world's governing body - FIH - searches for answers to reduce the dependence on expensive nylon systems leading towards systems that require less watering and are more economic in cost, such as TigerTurf PP or PE wet fields, which have both been used for international matches.
TigerTurf's sand dressed pitches feature, densely tufted, soft curled yarns, that are part filled with selected round sand. When laid over a rubber pad all FIH playing standards are achieved and water requirement is reduced. The special fibres remain wet longer, whilst the sand layer supports the fibres in strength and retains more moisture within the system. For the player the game is enhanced, for the owner money is saved.
