A TigerTurf surface has been installed at a new children's nursery at West Horsley in Surrey. Footprints Montessori Day Nursery, which has been constructed within an existing farm complex, will provide a much needed facility for the surrounding rural villages.

Due to the sensitivity of the location it was essential to have a play and activity area which minimalised environmental impact, yet still provided a year round facility for the children. The drainage properties of TigerTurf provided a surface which returned rainwater to the ground below which subsequently irrigates to surrounding natural vegetation.

The play and activity areas were constructed from two different surfaces. Grass-like areas were created from a 24mm pile carpet, laid over ProPlay impact matting to provide an impact resistant surface around play equipment. This was interspersed with red pathways painted with white road markings, for the children to practice their wheeled activities. This surface enabled the easy movement of wheels whilst still providing a safe surface in the event of a ~road accident~.

A spokesperson for the nursery commented "In addition to providing a safe all weather surface on which the children are able to exercise their bodies and their imagination, TigerTurf has proved to be a valuable selling point for the nursery."
