Sports Construction Group, TigerTurf Coming to Ohio's Medina City School District

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (June 18, 2007) Sports Construction Group returns to a job site of old this summer -- Medina City School District in Medina, Ohio.

The Cleveland-based sport field contractor was selected by the District to serve as its General Contractor, replacing a grass field with a state-of-the-art synthetic turf system from TigerTurf Americas.

"We're pleased with SCG's reputation for quality and they are able to meet all of our goals and timelines,” said Kevin Kelly, Athletic Director for the Medina City School District. He added that SCG' s warranty, the most comprehensive in the synthetic turf industry, was a strong selling point for the company.

Kelly said that SCG "is a natural fit for us,” as the District has some history working with the company. Several years ago SCG, then known as S.W. Franks, installed a track and tennis courts for Medina City School District. Kelly said it was a positive experience and one that factored in the decision to work with SCG again.

Regarding the recent field project, which SCG embarked on earlier this spring, Kelly said he was "amazed” at what they'd done in just a few days on the job "They were moving dirt as early as 7:00 a.m. the first week. We're more than pleased with their progress so far.”

The new system, featuring monofilament turf (the most advanced type of synthetic surface on the market today), is expected to be complete in early August. Funded without tax dollars, the facility will host a wide array of sports and activities for both the school district and the community, said Kelly.

Medina City School District is located south of Cleveland.
