Vigalli Joins TigerTurf International Network of Full Service Synthetic Turf Manufacturing Facilities
10/31/2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (October 31, 2007) TigerTurf International (TTI) has reached an agreement with Vigalli Textile Company, headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, to serve as TigerTurf Latin America for customers in South America.
Following the recent announcement of a new TigerTurf Americas manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas, this most recent arrangement marks TTI's fourth full service TigerTurf manufacturing plant. TigerTurf Latin America is already producing synthetic turf for sport and landscape applications for a wide range of customers throughout South America, according to Harry Salomons, TigerTurf Americas director.
"Our strategy as a company is to bring full-service turf production in-continent for better customer service,” said Salomons. ‽From the development and testing of synthetic turf fibers to coating applications and everything in between will be handled in-house. This strategy has worked for us in our Australasia and European markets. And with the demand we're already seeing in the Americas, we anticipate our facilities will be very busy in the coming years.”
Graham Vivian, Chairman and Founder of TigerTurf International, said, "We're pleased to merge our 27 years of synthetic turf expertise with the strong capabilities of Vigalli to provide our customers with superior products, produced efficiently in market. Vigalli has a reputation for quality. We share that focus and look forward to building on it together,” he added.
Attílio Russo Neto, Vigalli director, concurred, saying, "As companies we share similar philosophies, which will allow us to serve the market in the best possible way.
"Pairing our production capabilities and joint technology with TigerTurf's access to the world's array of yarns and other resources is an ideal match for creating and delivering superior surfaces,” said Neto.
Vigalli will begin producing TigerTurf products immediately, while further north TigerTurf's U.S. facility recently began production. "Now we have the Americas covered, from pole to pole, with full service manufacturing plants,” said Salomons.
TigerTurf's other manufacturing facilities can be found in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, with offices in Australia and Germany. The company, headquartered in New Zealand, provides sport and landscape solutions for customers in over 85 countries. TigerTurf develops and produces custom products, systems meeting stringent governing body guidelines (FIFA, FIH, ITF, IRB, World Bowls, etc.), as well as mainstream synthetic turf applications.
"Whether it's football, rugby, American football, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, cricket or World Bowls, we produce a synthetic surface for just about anything played on natural grass,” said Vivian. "Our landscape and playground products also serve just as wide a range of needs,” he added. "We're thrilled to bring such a breadth of products and ingenuity to customers throughout the Americas!”
