Lloyd Elsmore Park opens World Class Pitch
23/02/2010Feedback regarding the new TigerTurf WETT surface at Lloyd Elsmore Park has been very positive from players and staff alike.
Lloyd Elsmore Park, the home of Auckland Hockey, is gearing up for a big hockey season ahead including the National U18 Championship Tournament in early July 2010, The Rosemary O'Brien Cup Secondary Schoolgirls tournament in August and September and the National Hockey League in September. But the new TigerTurf surface, completed in January 2010, is getting plenty of use by local teams and schools for games and training.
Lloyd Elsmore Synthetic Hockey Pitch
There was keen competition from synthetic surface suppliers to install the new Lloyd Elsmore Park hockey field as it is known as the home of Auckland Hockey, is the main pitch in Auckland and the flagship for Hockey New Zealand.
Auckland Hockey were keen to move with the times and get the most up to date surface with regards to synthetic technology and playing performance and with TigerTurf’s WETT (Water Efficient TigerTurf) technology being several years ahead of other companies, Auckland Hockey recognized the benefits of WETT with its added lifespan, grain free playing characteristics, and ability to safely use without watering.
The new WETT surface replaced a TT37 surface which had provided a durable and trouble free surface for over 8 seasons. TigerTurf’s long standing history with Auckland Hockey along with its state of the art surface and re-usable shock-pad helped to finalise the deal.
